    The under-mentioned students whose names have been shortlisted are advised to send a self-certified copy of their latest school mark-sheet to support@thelearningnetwork.in for verification. The mark-sheet must reflect score / grade in English, as one of the major subjects.


    The shortlisted students shall also receive an email on their registered email ID from us latest by 17.07.2022 detailing the schedule of online / telephonic viva on their authored essays.

    We are happy to announce the final result of the T|L|N Essay Contest 2020. It is a matter of great happiness and pride for The Learning Network to be honoured with the good opportunity of having Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, Executive Director (Corporate Affairs), MECON, Ranchi release the final results of the contest with his commendations and good wishes. Our greetings and sincere thanks to him for taking his precious time out for our young contestants. We take this opportunity to congratulate all the awardees whose names have been listed below.     List of Students Shortlisted in Group A (Classes 6 – 8) and Group B (Classes 9-10)

    It gives us immense happiness to publish the names of eleven contestants whose essays have been shortlisted under Group A and Group B, respectively. While we received overwhelming contributions from students from over hundred cities, we initially shortlisted 724 essays during the first review – and subsequently 80 essays during the second review (based on select quality parameters). From among these, 22 (in two groups) have been finally shortlisted after a comprehensive review and evaluation based on content, grammar, flow, structure, ideation, spelling, handwriting, clarity etc.

    Important Information for the Shortlisted and Other Contestants

    1. The undermentioned shortlisted students are advised to send a self-certified copy of their latest school marksheet to support@thelearningnetwork.in for verification. The marksheet must reflect score / grade in English, as one of the major subjects.
    2. The shortlisted students shall also receive an email on their registered email ID from us (latest by 02.03.2021) detailing the schedule of online / telephonic viva on their authored essays.
    3. The final awardees would be notified from amongst the shortlisted students after due verification and corroboration of the authorship / authenticity of the essays.
    4. The contest witnessed influx of several hundred splendid essays showcasing sincere efforts of young participants penning down their creative thoughts with relentless zeal and enthusiasm. We are humbled to receive several affectionate and supportive letters, calls and messages from students and parents from several distant parts of India appreciating our efforts in organising this contest. While we shall shortly announce the names of the final awardees, we cannot discount the efforts of so many other students who participated in this contest with great enthusiasm, optimism and focus.
    5. We have plans to print and publish “extracts” of the shortlisted and several other noteworthy and commendable essays of this contest in a Compendium sometime in June this year (depending on time and resources available). Essential information in this regard shall be notified subsequently to the contestants.

    Eligibility: Students from Class VI to Class X

    Note: We have received several requests from students (who couldn’t receive the information in time) to extend the deadlines for registration and submission. Considering the current pandemic all around, the closure at schools and to facilitate more students from far flung areas to participate in the contest, we have revised the schedule a little. Inconvenience caused is regretted.

    The last date for registration as well as submission of essay has been extended to 15.11.2020. There shall be no further extension beyond the mentioned date. The results would be announced sometime in Jan 2021.

    GROUP A – MIDDLE SCHOOL (CLASSES 6 – 8)

    Topic: Smartphone: Is it a Boon or a Bane for students?

    Word Limit: 500 words

    GROUP B – HIGH SCHOOL (CLASSES 9 – 10)

    Topic: The Essential Qualities of Highly Successful Students.

    Word Limit: 800 words

    Prizes

    In each category we have the following prizes:

    1st prize: Books worth INR 1,000

    2nd prize: Books worth INR 500

    3rd prize: Books worth INR 250

    5 consolation prizes in each category

    E-Certificates shall be provided to all the participants

    Terms and Conditions

    The contest is open to all students from classes 6 through 10 studying in ICSE schools in India.

    There is no participation fee – the contest is free for all eligible students.

    Essays must be original and must not be published elsewhere.

    Plagiarized entries shall be summarily rejected.

    Essays must have only one author. Co-authored essays shall not be accepted.

    The Learning Network shall have the copyright on the essays received in the contest.

    One participant could submit only one entry.

    The Learning Network reserves the right to cancel or amend all or any part of the contest and revise or repeal any of the terms & conditions, evaluation criteria, submission deadlines etc.

    The contestants should write the essay in their own handwriting and upload the scanned copy of the same in PDF format at the submission link provided below.

    In all matters concerning this contest, the decision of The Learning Network shall be final and binding on all contestants.

    Disputes, if any, are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of competent courts in Ranchi district only.

    The contestants must mention their name, class roll no., class and school name at the top of the page  on which they write their essay.
